Mr. Uttam Kumar Bhattarai was born in Khotang in 1959.  In 2002, he appeared in the free competition  of HMG first class officer and got wounderful success. Presently he is serving as DG in the Department of Food Technology and Quality control  (HMG) Babarmahal Kathmandu, Nepal.

Prof.  Dr. Dhanapati  Neupaney  was  born in Taplejung Dewalinge and migrated to Jhapa, Damak in 1970. He entered at Dhukurpani and Damak high School for his early education. The education was  not  free  at  that  time and his poor family hardly could pay tuition fee. He joined Dharan  Campus   and completed  I. Tech.  Food in merit in 1979.  In 1980 he left for Russia for higher study and completed Masters in Food Tech. and Eng, and return back to Nepal in 1986. He was awarded with Munbusho Scholarship of Japan for higher study in 1994. 

He completed his Ph.D., and post doctor from Rakuno Gakuen University, Hokkaido, Japan.  He has established a very nice school in Damak, Jhapa, in the name of “Nepal Japan Friendship School” in 1998. 

Now he is working in a  team of scientists  in Ale. Inc. Japan.

Mr. Indra Prasad Sitaula is the bright and famous figure produced from Dharan Campus. He was born in Athrai Terathum and later migrated to Jhapa, Topgachi.  Being a very talant and generous personality, he had no problems in his study. He joined NFC, Nepal  after I. Tech. Food and contributing till now. He has served in UNV in Swaziland in South Africa. Now he is serving in VETNAM. He is B. Tech. Food and MBA from TU. Mr.   He is very interested for research in grain storage technology and management. He had worked as a division chief of NFC  offices in Nepal. He is affiliated with many NGOs & social services.  He is one of the founder man of NEFOSTA, Nepal. He is the chief editor of NEFOSTA (scintific food journal of Nepal). We are very much proud for his multidimentional approaches. We wish him further progress.

Mrs. Jiwan Prava Lama was grown up in a advance family in Dharan. She completed B. Tech. from Dharan campus and M. Tech. from Reading University, UK. She is senior research officer at Department of Food Technology and Quality Control, HMG/ Nepal. She is very famous and talanted researcher in Nepalese foods. She has several research papers published in different scientific journals. Besides her offical works, she is affiliated with many social services, and NGOs. 

She has also keen interest in gardening and pets. Frankly speaking, she is very sincere, kind and multidimentional personality.

Mr. Uddhav K. Pradhan was born in Dhankuta Tallo Kopche in 1958, Mr Uddhav K. Pradhan is now a resident of Biratnagar sub metropolis. Mr Pradhan did B.Tech in the year 1985. Mr Pradhan has been working as a well established confectioner/biscuit expert ever since he was graduated from Hattishar Campus, Dharan. He has worked as a production manager at several leading biscuit industries in Nepal such as Pashupati Biscuit Industries (Duhabi), Mayur Biscuits & Food Industries (Biratnagar). He is now working in the capacity of the Research/Development Manager/Advisor for Pokhara Foods & Pokhara Noodles in Pokhara. At numerous occasions he has provided consultancy and advisory services to a number of clients from small to large biscuit industries in Nepal and neighboring cities in India. He has also received several in-country professional training awards on quality control/assurance, good management practices, financial/human resources management and made professional trips to India, Malaysia and Singapore. Mr Pradhan is indefatigable, committed/dedicated employee for biscuit world and is a trendsetter for biscuit industries in Nepal to extend products responding in parallel to local settings and consumers’ demand. Mr. Man Bahadur Shrestha was born in Bhojpur, Nepal. After completing his early education, he joined Dharan Campus for higher education. He has long experience of working in private industries and HMG offices. After completing B.Tech. he entered in the NARC, which is the advanced research center in Nepal  for agriculture as well as plants available in Nepal. Mr. MB is one of the successful  researcher, specially in cereal grains, tea, coffe and herbal plants. He has many papers published in different journals. He had presented his papers in China, India and Japan. Among the Dharane products, he is very active and dynamic in social works and highly cooperative for agro-based research works. He has got an advance training in cereal grain processing techniques in Japan in 2003.

Mr. Hikmat Bahadur Thapa  is from  farwestern, Nepal .He graduated in Food Technology from Central Campus of Technology,TU, Dharan in 1991.He started his professional carrier  by joining Nirvan Vanaspati Ghee Industries Pvt. Ltd as a Technical  Officer. Latter he joined the General Food Industries Pvt. Ltd, manufacturer of YUM YUM instant noodle. Because of his hard working and innovative ideas soon he was   given responsibility of Factory Manager then General Manager. He served GFI more then ten years.  During his tenure he got the opportunity for training about instant noodle manufacturing in Wan Thai Food Industries Co. Ltd , Bangkok, Thailand  .Similarly, Mr. Thapa trained in Nestle Moga Factory India Ltd about Maggi 2 Minute Noodle production. Mr. Thapa was an Incharge of Co-manufacturing of noodles for Nestle India Ltd at GFI for about three years. Mr. Thapa also attended the Palm oil Familiarization Programme 2000  in Malaysia organized by Malaysian Palm  Oil  Board. He has attended several national and international workshops related to Food and allied industries. Mr. Thapa is leading personality in noodle manufacturing and has so many patent of instant noodles brand in his credit.

Mr. Thapa joined Multi Food Industries   Pvt. Ltd. as General Manager   in 2003,where he was given overall responsibility of  Production, Finance, administration ,Sales and Marketing. Currently Mr. Thapa is affiliated to HP Agrawal group of company’s s a General Manager of its Consumer Product Division. Mr. Thapa is  lookingafter the  technical  and marketing management of    the Shree Krishna Oil and Refinary, Shree Ram Khadhya Udhog, and Megha Soap and Chemical Industries,of this group. He is actively involving on the new noodle project of the group.

Mr. thapa beside his company’s responsibilities, has been serving as senior consultant in several food processing industries.

Dr. Megh Raj Bhandari has been working as a Food Research Officer at Department of Food Technology and Quality Control, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of Nepal since 1995. Dr. Bhandari is one of the leading young food scientists of Nepal, and has published several research article.

Mr. Achyut Adhikari, was born at Dharan in 1976. He studied in Centarl Campus Dharan. He is young unmarried lecturer in Central Campus Dharan. He is very much interested in research specially in food preservation by drying. His research work  in Masters degree was the kinetic of moisture movement from the three dimentional spaces of food to the surface and then surroundings. He completed his Master's degree in 2004. He had served as MD of Archana Food Products and Adhunic Food Industry in Kathmandu, Nepal. He is affiliated with NEFOSTA Nepal and Yuba Milan Club of  Dharan.

We wish him great success in teaching and for advanced research.

Mr. Chandra Prasad Neupane is from Jhapa, Mechi, Nepal. He has completed B. Tech. Food from Dharan in 1984, and later MPA from TU, Kathmandu.  Presently he is citizen of US after accquiring Green Card.

Mr. Ganesh Dabadi was born in Chakarghatti, Sunasri, Koshi, Nepal. He joined Dharan campus in BS 2031 and after completing the certificate level he joined Food Research Lab. Now, his service station is fixed  at quality control department in the Central Food Lab. Babarmahal Katmandu, Nepal.

Mr. Prajesh Parajuli was born in Taulihawa, Lumbini in 1974. He did SLC in 1992 from Trichandra Ma. Bi. Kalaiya Bara. He completed intermediate from Vivekananda Ju College, Andra pradesh, India, and joined for graduation in Dharan Campus.He is one of the lucky fellow among Dharane. He was blessed by Dantakali and Budhasubba for his honesty and hard labour, may be due to this reason he met very kind and beautiful life partner Miss Sarana Shrestha, who had also graduated from Dharan Campus in 1999. Both of them have working experiences in different food industries of Nepal. Presently they have win USA green card lottery and now they are hard working for their prosperious and happy life in USA. We wish you every success in life and kindly request to both of you, please do not forget Dharane friends including Danta Kali and Budhasubba where you both had promised for brighter and pleasure life.

Miss Sarana Shrestha is a resident of Lalitpur, Nepal. She had dreamed  to be a food technician and serve nation. After completion of ISc, she joined Dharan campus and completed B.Tech. Food in 1999. Miss Sarana Shrestha met a handsom friend in Dharan campus, who  helped her in many ways. She was always doubts on the gentleman for his kind behave. One day that kind gui proposed her to be his life partner, which was out of expectection for Sarana. But god Buda Subba and Dantakali were there, who helped to solved such  love problems for thousands of lovers. The dream came true. Unexpected  happy life was started, and then she said godbye to beloved Dharan Campus and returned to Kathmandu with two certificates from Central Campus Dharan. God always helped her, and now she is in USA with Green Card, and Mr. Prajesh Parajuli. We wish you all the best, and hope you will not forget Dharan Campus.

Mr. Suk Dev Neupaney was born in Bhojpur and migrated at Kanchanpur in BS 2025. He has completed Laboratory technology and B. Tech. Food from Dharan Campus. He is well known for the  extra talanted student among Dharane products with  exceptional fast memory power. He has served in different instutions and teaching profession in Nepal. He is very kind and courageous person equipped with vast knowledge and experiences in different fields.

He likes simple living and high thinking. Perhaps he is the only one fellow among Dharane who is doing contineous  struggle for  mysterious subjects with great courage and enthusiasm.

Dr Desh Subba

Following B.Tech in 1985, Dr Desh Subba worked as a Senior Scientist in the Pakhribas Agricultural Centre, Dhankuta. In 1989 he successfully completed a PG Diploma in animal nutrition at University of Aberdeen, UK. Returning to Aberdeen in 1996 when he obtained his masters degree in the same subject. Latterly in 2004, he obtained a PhD in Agro-forestry from the University of Wales, Bangor. Additionally he underwent several professional training awards at Wageningen Agric University, Holland, University of Reading, UK, Natural Resources Institute, England and Rowett Research Institure, Scotland. He has been the project leaders of various research projects with external/internal funding and an associate editor of Veterinary Review, a half yearly internation scientific journal for animal health, nutrition and prodution matters. Over the last decades, he has been actively involved in the selection and promotion of indigenous fodder resources to enhance livestock productivity in the mid hills of Nepal. He worked as a principle collaborating scientist in joint research projects with several universities and research institutres in the UK. His PhD research demonstrated that farmers in Nepal possessed considerable explanatory knowledge in their classification, ranking and evaluation of tree fodders. The biological bases of this knowledge were later confirmed in terms of effects on animal performances. Currently employed by Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research and Development (LI-BIRD), an NGO based in Pokhara, Dr Subba is developing and promoting a user friendly decision support tool for extension/development workers through the integration of the indigenous and scientific knowledges to help farmers for feed planning using existing feeds and fodder resources in the middle hills of Nepal.

 

Dr Subba has over 50 scientific papers in his credit published in leading local and international scientific journals including a  compendium of the nutritive value of Nepalese feeds and fodder for researchers and extension workers, a manual for laboratory technicians and has recently written two booklets for use of local stakeholders. He has participated in several international conferences in United Kingdom, Holland, Costa Rica, Australia and Mexico and have travelled unofficially to Thailand, Singapore, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Luxemburg and France. Miss Matina Vaidhya was born in Kathmandu valley. She completed SLC from kathmandu in excellent marks and started for brainstorming to choose the subject for higher study. How she chose a remote place like Dharan from Kathmandu and joined food technology, she did not disclose us. We guessed that she is a very courages girl and dared to escape from the conservative society of kathmandu and set out for Dharan. She lived at Bijayapur with a very reputed family of Dharan who is Mr.Padam Narshing. She completed B.Tech Food in 1994 in merit and returned back to Kathmandu. She joined to serve Central Food lab in kathmandu. After the marriage most of the girls become more busy and less active, but Mrs. Matina became fantastic active and dynamic with the support of her husband.  In 2001, she was awarded for an excellent scholarship in Belgium to study MSc Food.  She is now in the quality contrl branch of Central Food Lab in Kathmandu. Mrs. Matina Joshi  is elected in NEFOSTA executive member in 2004.

Miss Humma Bokkhim was born at remote village of Dhankuta. She was a very excited and cleaver girl. She could speak only in native Limbu language in her childhood.  But now  she is perfect to talk, write and read  in many languages. She completed her SLC from X school. She joined Dharan campus in Y and completed B.Tech Food in 1994. After the completion of B.Tech Food, she joined Central Food Research Lab in Katmandu. She got married in Z. Despite of busy family life and office works, she is always gave appropriate time for regular study on technical subjects. Mrs. Huma was selected for government scholarship in 2002 to study M. Tech Food in Belgium. During her stay in Belgium, she had also visited several European countries and strengthen her knowledge in European culture and civilization. Mrs. Humma is a very talented personality with sufficient technical and general knowledge. She is very confident and straight forward to discuss in any subjects and draw conclusions. Presently she is elected in NEFOSTA executive member. We hope Mrs. Huma Bokkhim and Mrs. Matina Joshi will give strong leadership and make better representation in NEFOSTA.

Mr. Sushil K. Bhattarai

Sushil K. Bhattarai was born in 1963, is a permanent resident of Inaruwa Municipality, Sunsari. Mr Bhattarai accomplished B.Tech in the year 1987. Beginning his technical acquaintance from processing and packaging of commercial tea from Tokla Tea State, Jhapa, he is now a technical professional for leading noodles and snack food industries in Nepal. At various times, he has worked for Gandaki Noodles (Brown i.e. Jo-Jo, Tara etc, and white noodles i.e. Ramba, Sima etc) (Pokhara), Thai food (Wai-Wai) (Lalitpur) and Kachanjunga Processed Food (U-Key) (Itahari) as production manager and now again in Pokhara with Pokhara Noodles as production executive with crucial roles on production, quality control and promotion of the ended products. Not only with noodles and snacks, his three years continuous service as a production executive with Al-Jadeed Bakery, Dubai for the production of modern breads/ rolls and burgers demonstrated his proficiency in these areas too.
