Nepal is known
for the country of Everest and lord-Buddha. It is situated in between China and India. Kathmandu is
the capital of Nepal , that is situated above 1200 meters from sea level. The
climate of Kathmandu is pleasant
throughout the year, on an average 10oC in the winter and 28oC in summer. There is no snow fall
in Kathmandu. The Nepalese
currency is Rupee that is 1$ equal 75 Rupee (2004, June). Nepal is famous for
tourism due to beautiful sky-kissing mountains and wonderful natural environment and cultures. Nepalese people are very friendly,
kind and there are no unpleasant incidents with tourists in the history. The education sector
of Nepal is growing very fast with the establishment
of several universities, campuses and higher educational centers. Food Science
and technology institute is one of such an example that showed magnificent development to attract
thousands of students to acquire academic qualification as well as research capability. The location for the establishment
of CCT was selected for Dharan, because eastern region of Nepal is
most fertile with appropriate climatic condition throughout the year for the production of different types of food,
vegetables as well as cash crops. Availability of fresh and low cost agro based raw materials as well as other important utilities,
many agro based food industries are set up in the eastern reason of Nepal. In the beginning,
the campus faced several problems including lack of buildings and sufficient teachers. The private buildings were hired in
different locations ( Janapath, Laxi Sadak). Thereafter some wood huts were
constructed under the supervision of Dr. Bhadra Man Tuladhar in Bijayapur, Hattisar. In 1980 new
sophisticated lecture halls and laboratory rooms were constructed at Hattisar and then classrooms were
shifted in new building. Later gradually student hostels, teachers
quarters and modern office building were constructed designing with nice
fence and gardening around campus in about 500 hectors area. Now the campus is very successfully
running with full phase having all modern facilities of research and development. A brief is shown in different
headings.
